There were 20 ladies for Winter League today - and some blistering scores.
Katy Chapman won  Silver Division with 40, Margaret Kerr was second on 43.  Ella Allen won Bronze with 41, Sandra McClelland was second on 42.

* The Pro Shop is taking orders for our  purple club sweater.  Choose from V-neck, Crew-neck  or Slipover. Sizes are small, medium, large and extra large.  Please order asap to have your sweater in time for the new season.

DOROTHY FARQUHAR

It is sad to report that Dorothy Farquhar passed away on Sunday the 21st February. Dorothy was Ladies Club Champion at Blairgowrie in the years 1987, 1994 and 1996. She was also past President of the Perth and Kinross County Ladies Golf Association. Funeral arrangements to follow.

Conditions were dismal and drizzly for Winter League today, but at least the threatened snow failed to appear.  Muriel Rae won the Silver Division and Janet MacKenzie  won Bronze. Thanks to all who came along.

The sun was shining for Winter League today and it seemed to bring out the best  in everyone. There were some great scores.
Lady Captain, Kathy Cameron, won the Bronze Division with a  fantastic score of 40, just pipping Janet McKenzie.
Bronwen Godley returned a 42,  just ahead of Aileen Priestley on 43, to win the Silver Division.

WINTER LEAGUE CANCELLED AGAIN 05/02/2016

It's  like a recording, there were no takers for Winter League today due to driving rain and  gusty winds.  Once again we settled for coffee and a chat, but not before signing up for some of the Club Matches. The Vice-Captain, Meriel Walker, led the way on her knees!

*The Pro Shop has a  fantastic sale on - EVERYTHING  HALF PRICE....but  there has been a mix-up with some ladies Footjoy shoes. If you bought a  pair of blue and white shoes, check that you have matching shoes, we're  loooking for a lost 7 & a 5.5.

*News! Congratulations to Alexandra Nisbet,  past Blairgowrie Ladies Club Champion, on the birth of a son, Hugo, today. Mother and baby doing well.

I cannot believe we are into February already, so ladies, now is the time to get your pens and pencils out to get your names up, for all the great events involving our good selves.  Firstly, The Mail on Sunday. The draw has not yet been made for the first match involving Blairgowrie, but I am keen to have a pool of players available as early as possible, should we be involved in a fixture between the 19th Feb - 13th Mar.  2016

Next, our yearly match against the Senior Gents in The Columbine Cup.  This is to be played on Tuesday 12th April 2016, and the closing date for names is Sunday 3rd April.  Further details about the day are on the signing up sheet in the Ladies Locker Room.  As previously stated in my last post, the signing up sheets for the Friendly Matches and the Handicap League are also on display awaiting all your names.
