WINTER LEAGUE 25 November 2011

You often hear golfers trotting out that old saying "Why do we play this game??" Why indeed, who in their right mind wants to play in sleet, driving rain and freezing wind? Answer - 9 brave souls who battled round Lansdowne this morning in desperate conditions. In truth the ladies did dither before deciding to chance it and at the end of the morning the last few holes were played in brilliant sunshine.
...it was just the bit in the middle of the round that left everybody wondering why they had spurned the offer of coffee and a cosy chat in the lounge in favour of playing Winter League.

Everybody who played deserved to win, but best scores were

Silver : Sandy Bushby 55 (bih) and Heather Dawson (55)

Bronze : Birte Buckett (59) and Katy Chapman (62)

P.S. Just a reminder
that tickets for the Christmas Lunch are available from the dining-room staff, priced £16.00. When you buy a ticket you will be asked to make your choice of starter and main course, and this will be written on the back of your ticket. The menu is on the Blog and also posted in the Locker Room.
