The weather continues to thwart our hopes of golf, but there are, at least, some patches of green appearing on the tees and fairways. On a more positive note the refurbishment of the club is progressing well and may even be completed ahead of schedule. The Lady Captain sends us all her best wishes from the balmy banks of the River Nile at Luxor and says she is thinking of us.....
THE GOOD NEWS SPOT : The sign-up deadline for our Medals is changing from noon on Tuesdays to noon on Wednesdays. This brings the ladies cut-off point into line with the men's cut-off point for signing up.
AND FINALLY : If you are feeling fed up with the weather and may be thinking about retiring from golf, remember what Bob Hope said :
"I could never give up golf - I have too many sweaters!"

"THE BEST-LAID SCHEMES....."
The Burns Supper due to take place on Friday 25th January has had to be cancelled due to the ongoing bad weather. The forecast for Friday evening is particularly bad with warnings of heavy blizzards. Due to the refurbishment of the Club it has not been possible to arrange another date. The Social Committee would like to thank everyone who had bought tickets. The next event will be the Motown Night on Saturday 9th March
