FRIENDLY MATCH V LADYBANK - THURSDAY 8 JUNE

We had a very enjoyable day out at Ladybank today. The skies remained overcast with at times a slightly chilly wind; where was all this sunshine Windy Wilson had forecast, certainly not over Ladybank Golf course!

However, the course was in fantastic condition and all of us had plenty of opportunity to try out the newly installed replacement bunkers! All four matches were keenly contested, however the hosts proved to be tough opponents and won the match 3 1/2 to 1/2. After our game we enjoyed a delicious two course meal in the club house.

Many thanks to Sue Waddell (Captain), Elaine Robson, Fiona Johnston, Fiona Edwards, Eileen McMurray, Lorraine MacGregor, Gill Tissell and Meriel Walker for representing the club.

FRIENDLY MATCH v ALYTH - MONDAY 5 JUNE

We had a very enjoyable match against Alyth ladies on Monday afternoon on Rosemount. The course was in great condition. The recent good spell of weather has certainly helped the growth of the grass on the greens. All matches were keenly contested, however the visitors had the upper hand and won all 4 matches. Despite the 'whitewash' we were all still speaking after the game and enjoyed a delicious two course meal in the dining room together with some chat!

Many thanks to Sue Waddell (captain), Fiona Edwards, Linda Rice, Elaine Robson, Moira Lumby, Lorraine MacGregor, Eileen McMurray and Meriel Walker for representing the club.

All smiles at the start!

FRIENDLY MATCH v STRATHMORE - TUESDAY 30 MAY

It was a pleasure to welcome the ladies from Strathmore for this friendly match on Rosemount, which was enjoyed in glorious sunshine and fabulous playing conditions. The teams on paper were very evenly matched, and the results proved this to be the case, with two matches finishing on the 17th and two going to the final hole. On this occasion our guests secured a 3-1 win, and were very complimentary on the presentation of the course and the delicious meal enjoyed in the clubhouse afterwards.

Thanks are due to the greenkeepers, Tina and the catering staff, and to our Blairgowrie team of Linda Rice, Jen Geddes, Anne Walker, Elaine Robson (team captain), Anne Farquharson, Fiona Edwards, Maggie Marshall and Lorraine MacGregor for representing the club.

Both teams ready for action!

Many thanks to Elaine Robson for the match report and photo.

WEE COURSE TEXAS SCRAMBLE - WEDNESDAY 24 MAY

Twenty one ladies played in the Wee Course Texas Scramble today in warm, sunny conditions. The Ladies Committee was somewhat depleted due to prior commitments, however it was great to see some ladies who do not often play in the regular wee course competitions and of course the wee course regulars!

Everyone appeared to enjoy their day, there was some good golf and a lot of fun. The winners (I am embarrassed to say) was myself, Jean Laburn and Kay Thomson with a score of 27. Runners up with a score of 28 were Linda Clark, Morag Johnston, Maureen Reid and Heather Welsh.

After our game the ladies enjoyed an informal lunch in the dining room which rounded off a very sociable day. Thanks to the green keeping staff who presented a fantastic course, the greens were superb - certainly proved no obstacle, as the winning team single putted the majority of the greens! Thanks also to Sean in the office for organising and inputting all of the score cards and to Greg and his team for keeping us fed and watered.

FRIENDLY MATCH V CRAIL - MONDAY 22 MAY

A great day of good golf today at sunny Blairgowrie. The course was looking lovely and there were many compliments from the visiting team. A 2.5-1.5 victory for Blairgowrie made it an even better day. Tina and her team produced a tasty spread so all in all a very enjoyable day.

Many thanks to Mary Miller for being Captain today and for her match report.

Well done ladies and thanks to the team Mary Miller (Captain), Maggie Marshall, Carolyn Haddow, Brenda Clough, Anne Walker, Ruth Watson, Anne Farquharson and Jacquie Doig for representing the club.
