OUTING TO LADYBANK ON 25TH SEPTEMBER

I would like to thank Margaret Hunter for travelling to Ladybank Golf Club to join us, even although she was unable to play due to her ongoing shoulder injury.  Margaret as you will see still utilised her skills by collating the cards and taking the photos of our outing.

30 ladies travelled to Ladybank, 24 on the coach to participate in a day of fun golf.  Although the coach was slightly late in leaving Blairgowrie, the ladies were still on time to have their bacon rolls and coffee prior to going on the first tee at 11.40.  The Ladybank Lady Captain had been present to greet us and passed on her well wishes via Mary Hope who was able to chat with her before our arrival.

The format of the day was Individual stroke play over 18 holes and a team event of 2 scores from 3 on Stableford points for the team prize.  Following the golf all the ladies enjoyed a two course meal with a light refreshment and loads of chat and laughter.  At one point the group joined in as the Lady Captain broke into song.

The winners on the day were :-
1st Scratch Silver - Gillian Wallace, 1st Handicap Fiona Johnston.
1st Scratch Bronze - Katie Chapman, 1st Handicap Brenda Kerr.
                              N/P Silver - Eileen McMurray
                              N/P Bronze - Heather Dawson
Longest Drive Silver - Gillian Wallace
Longest Drive Bronze - Meriel Walker

Team Prize - Gillian Wallace, Anglea Rooney and Mary Miller

The service within the clubhouse was excellent and very relaxed, to the extent that the group were asked to have their photo taken on the 18th green with the caterers.

The day I feel was a great success, taking in all the feedback given from our ladies on the way home.  The weather held with only slight rain at the beginning of the day, this adding to the great value of a day's Golf Outing costing only £35.00 all inclusive.

Thank you ladies for providing me with another wonderful day in my Captaincy.
