Feedback from the annual meeting of the ladies' section
The following issues were discussed at the annual meeting of the ladies' section. I plan to raise these at the next main committee on 30 October.
Winter League
• The motion proposing a hybrid Winter League format (18 or 12 holes) was carried.
• A proposal for 3-ball format for Winter League was proposed and carried unanimously.
This would encourage more ladies to play social and interactive golf.
Club Championship
• There was discussion on the Club Championship, since neither Sophie’s Trophy nor Division 2 championship were played for due to insufficient numbers playing.
• A proposal for 4 qualifying rounds, 2 Wednesdays and 2 Saturdays was proposed and carried. It was suggested that the club may wish to revisit the number of qualifying rounds for gents as well as ladies, and to check whether these qualifying rounds clash with other events.
• Suggestion that Club Championship days be moved to later in the season since June is very busy with knock-out competitions.
