Report

The ladies arrived in time for breakfast rolls and hot drinks before hitting the fairways.

The weather was not ideal, quite windy with a few squally showers, which made the course feel a bit long and difficult for some of us.

Nevertheless, everyone enjoyed the experience.

Post play we were served a lovely 2 course meal in the wood panelled dining room.

It was good to relax and enjoy our food in a beautiful room which we had to ourselves , allowing plenty of post-match chat.

Following our meal The Ladies Vice Captain, Louise Luke presented the prizes.

Ladies wishing to play bridge over the winter months are invited to meet up on

Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 1.30 - 3.30 pm commencing 13th or 14th October in the Wee Golf Lounge

There will be no beginners sessions but there will be some enthusiastic and experienced players to help.

Winter Interclub League Friendly Matches 2026/27

The commencement of the Winter League will start in October on the following dates:

Points are awarded to the winning team for each match.  The winning club will be presented with a Silver Salver at the Winter League AGM held each August.

Teams of six compete in a 4 BBB format.  Soup and sandwiches will be served after the game at a cost of £10 per person.

Ladies of all abilities are encouraged to participate (a maximum handicap of 36 will be applied).

Ladies Annual Meeting

The purpose of this meeting is for the election of Captain, Vice Captain and 2 Committee members

The following members are retiring from office.

Heather Dawson - Lady Captain

Marion Kay- Committee member

Morna Bell- Committee member

Any nominations for candidates for the office of Ladies Club Captain, Vice Captain and members of the Ladies Sub-Committee must be duly proposed and seconded by full lady members and intimated to the Club's Managing Secretary, by the closing date of 18th September 2026, with the name of the Proposer and Seconder.  In the event that the number exceeds the number  of vacancies, a vote will be required to elect the required number.  A notice listing any candidates will be posted on the notice board in the Ladies Locker room.

The Ladies may also put forward any motions or proposals relating to the running of the ladies' competitions or events for consideration at the annual Meeting.  Such motions or proposals must be made in writing to the Ladies Sub-Committee, duly proposed and seconded by the 18th September 2026.  Any proposal or motion outwith the ladies' competitions or events will not be accepted but will be forwarded either to the Club Committee for review or for discussion at the Annual General Meeting

Nomination papers and envelopes are available in the Ladies locker room and should be posted into the box provided.

Nominations and any Motions/Proposals will be published by the 21st September 2026

What a lovely day!  Weather perfect! Ambience, happy, lots of laughter and that is what I wanted.  I started the ladies off with bags of sweeties and on their round I was the hostess with the mostest,  supplying, water, fruit and chocolates from my buggy as the ladies  played golf.

I hope everybody enjoyed the day as much as I did!  Thank you to the catering staff for producing some delicious food.  Thanks to Greg starting us off with the water and  chocolates on the course, followed by lovely summer cocktails. To the office, Sean, Nicky and Zoe who are such a great help to me.  Thank you ladies for supporting my day and a huge thank you for donating £176 for CHAS.  This brings the total so far raised to  £2356.52.  It is very much appreciated. and I am very proud.

AWAY COMPOSITE MATCH BLAIRGOWRIE, PANMURE AND CARNOUSTIE

 Composite match - Panmure/Carnoustie/Blairgowrie - 24 August 

Our last friendly match of 2026 was played at Panmure on Monday, 24August in glorious, sunny conditions.  

The course was beautifully presented with some very challenging holes, where plotting your way around was essential. The par 3s were well protected by revetted bunkers adding to the difficulty of reaching them in one.

The format for the day was individual stableford playing alongside a lady from Panmure and Carnoustie, with the best four scores from each club determining the winning team.

Home advantage prevailed with the overall winners, Panmure scoring an impressive 139 points with one of their ladies contributing 41 points!

Post Golf we enjoyed a delicious meal and some friendly chat.

MATCH V PITLOCHRY AWAY 21ST AUGUST 2026

 Blairgowrie V Pitlochry  Away on 21st August

Although we set off from the first tee wearing jackets as there was a stiff breeze, by the time we had played a couple of holes the layers started to come off in the warm sunshine.  The course was looking magnificent and of course the views all round were spectacular.  

The golf was mixed and some of us (naming no names!) struggled against the stiff opposition put up by the Pitlochry ladies.  However, the Blairgowrie members enjoyed the opportunity to play such a picturesque and interesting course.  The result was a convincing 3-0 win to Pitlochry.

Afterwards we enjoyed a delicious meal and a good chat in the clubhouse.
