TURN UP AND PLAY SEPTEMBER 2014

There was a great turn out for the last Turn Up and Play of the season on Lansdowne this morning ....17 ladies  took part in a  fun competition arranged by Hazel Grant.  The winner was Muriel Rae, who also  shared the putting competition prizes with Fiona Barron.
Conditions were ideal for golf, with Florida-style weather, but  we passed the greenkeepers preparing the winter greens.....oh no!

The last Turn Up and Play for 2014 is on Tues. 30th September : Lansdowne. As the weather is becoming a bit chilly, we shall miss out Holes 7 & 8.
HAZEL GRANT will be charge. Usual arrangements. We have times booked from 9.03am until 10.00am, so if you would like to play early, please meet in the Locker Room at 8.45am, otherwise be there by 9.30am AT THE LATEST. Format decided by  Hazel on the day.

Junior Ryder Cup update

Another glorious day for the practice round of the Junior Ryder Cup. The Opening Ceremony was held at 5.00pm and the opening pairs announced.  If you want to follow local hero Bradley Neil he is in Match 5, paired with Max Schmitt of Germany.  The first Match tees off at 7.50am. The afternoon pairings will be announced on completion of the  morning's play

PRACTICE DAY AT THE JUNIOR RYDER CUP

The first full practice day of the Junior Ryder Cup took place  on Saturday 20th September.  The weather was ideal for golf - balmy conditions, no wind and perfect greens.  Here are some pictures of our lady volunteers.

Several Blairgowrie ladies  took part in the  SVLGA  Annual Competition Meeting at Blairgowrie  on Monday 15th September....with  Janice Lang winning  the Past President's Quaich which is awarded to the competitor returning the lowest gross score by a player in the  "more senior age group". Muriel MacPherson  was 2nd.

Mary Hope and Gillian Wallace won the Greensomes on Tuesday 16th September.  They shot a gross 82, nett 73.4.
Well done Blairgowrie Ladies.....

BLAIRGOWRIE WINS THE SCRATCH LEAGUE 2014

We have just heard from Heather Anderson that Blairgowrie has won the Perth and Kinross Lady County  Golfers Scratch League 2014!!!  The  Team won 5 out of 6 Matches.  Well done to everyone who played for the Scratch Team  and congratulations to our Scratch Team leaders, Gillian Wallace and Heather Anderson.  Yeeeaaah!!!!

Turn Up and Play took place on Lansdowne today, with Meriel Walker in charge.  Teams of 3 were asked to  record the  2 best  scores on each hole and the Team with the best score won.  It was Simply The Best!
Thanks to all who came along and congratulations to the  winning Team of Avril Smith, Jen Geddes, Meriel Walker and Aileen Kean.
The last Turn Up and Play for this year will be on Tuesday 30th September, on Lansdowne, with Hazel Grant in charge.
