Ladies Winter Competitions - Rules for using fairway mats

It has come to my knowledge that some ladies are unsure of the rules governing the use of fairway mats during winter play.

Please note that fairway mats are to be used only on the fairway.
During competition golf, if your ball has gone into the rough, you must play it as it lies.
Balls may not be lifted from the fairway to the rough.
If you elect to putt your ball from off the green, you have the choice of whether to  use a mat or not.

I hope this clarifies the Rules.

Monday Morning Social gathering

We welcomed 28 ladies to Neil Cameron's putting lesson on Monday, 13th January, the first of our social gatherings.

Neil gave a very interesting talk about the role of different putters and demonstrated the various techniques which we should try and adopt to make us all excel on the greens.   Afterwards, the ladies were then free to use the various aids which he made available and see how successful they were.  The ladies then retired to the lounge for coffee.

Our next get together will be on Monday 27th January again commencing at 10 a.m and we would ask that the ladies come along at 9.45 to get settled  before our Chef Gary gives his demonstration.
We look forward to seeing you all then.
