HAPPY NEW YEAR!

There were some good scores today for our last Winter League of 2021. Congratulations to Erica Espley who won Division 1 with a score of 38, with Sheila Ritchie coming second with 42. In Division 2, Fiona Edwards returned a brilliant score of 36, beating June Dargie into second place with 40. Because of problems with the computer, it was not possible to award prizes to the winners but they will be presented on another day.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all lady members a very happy and healthy New Year and I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will have a full season of golf in 2022. I hope to see you soon on the course or in the clubhouse.

FESTIVE GOLF

There were nine of us on an almost deserted course today (any excuse to get out of pre-Christmas chores!) and some festive cheer was in evidence.  The Division 1 winner was Noreen Fordyce with Margaret Hunter runner-up.  In Division 2, June Dargie was the winner, on countback from Katie Chapman.  Well done everyone for playing.  Here we are getting into the Christmas spirit.

WINTER LEAGUE - FRIDAY 17TH DECEMBER

Winter League Results

Congratulations to the winners of today’s Winter League Competition, who were Noreen Fordyce in Division 1, continuing her excellent form with a score of 42, closely followed by Jacqui Landsburgh with a 43.  In Division 2 Kathy Cameron came second with 40, but June Dargie was the winner with an excellent score of 39.  Morag Johnston was the Wee Course Winner.

June is photographed receiving her golf ball in front of a festive background.

For those of you not too busy stuffing a turkey or peeling sprouts, there will be a competition next Friday, Christmas Eve, on Lansdowne. Santa hats and reindeer antlers may be worn (but they are not compulsory)!

Hope to see you there.  On 31st December we will be back on Rosemount for the Winter League.

Tuesday 14 December 2021

WINTER GOLF - A REMINDER

At this time of year it is easy to sign up for a Winter League competition then find, at the last moment, that we are unable to play because of illness, inclement weather or, heaven forbid, a positive Covid test.  In these circumstances, please, please call your playing partners and/or the Pro Shop to advise them that you will not be playing.  The penultimate playing group should not tee off until the last group on the start sheet have arrived, to ensure that no one is left behind without a game.

Thank you!

Ladies Group Coaching 2022

Back by popular demand, Neil Cameron will be running Ladies Group coaching sessions in February/March next year and you can view the dates and times and sign up now on the Noticeboard on the landing outside the Locker Rooms.  Groups are restricted to a maximum of eight people and will run for six weeks from 21st February.  The cost for a block of six lessons is £30 which Neil requests as a cash payment before the end of January.  These lessons are always popular so don't delay!

Those of you who booked and paid for lessons in 2020, which were unfortunately curtailed due to Covid, will only have to pay £10 for 2022 lessons.  Neil also advises that there may some disruption to the lessons due to the fact that Neil & Emma are expecting a baby in mid-March (which I am sure you will agree takes precedence over golf tuition!).

Ladies Christmas Lunch - Captain's Report

Forty ladies attended the Christmas lunch yesterday and there was much laughter and Christmas cheer to be had.  As I said before lunch, I was afraid that this event might never happen, following the departure of our caterers, Gary & Elaine, and with the ever-increasing threat of the Omicron variant.

I am grateful to Tina and her team in the kitchen for preparing a very enjoyable lunch.  Big thanks also go to Carrie, Sean-Paul, Dani and Dylan for serving us, keeping the drinks flowing and generally helping things run smoothly, under Stuart's watchful eye.  They are a young team, some of whom have recently joined the club or have taken on new roles, and they are to be commended for their energy and enthusiasm.

Heather Dawson devised a fun Christmas quiz which got us all thinking and chatting and the winning table (hosted by Sue) was presented with chocolate Santas.  Mary Miller won the 'lucky seat' prize.

The draw for the Food Hamper was made after lunch and I was delighted that Janette Hamilton was the lucky winner.  Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to the hamper and bought raffle tickets.  I am delighted to say that we raised £220 for the Perth & Kinross Foodbank.

Mary Miller entertained us with her 'stand up-sit down' and 'heads and tails' elimination games and Mary Hope rounded off proceedings with a humorous Christmas poem.

Thanks to Margaret Hunter, who applied her photography (and photoshopping!) skills in putting together the montage which you see in the previous blog.

Finally, a big thank you to the Committee members who worked hard to make the day a success and to all of you for coming and joining in the fun.

We still have more golf to play before Christmas, but I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Festive Season and look forward to seeing you on the course or in the clubhouse soon.

Winter League Winners

 Today's Winter League Winners

Noreen Fordyce and Elaine Robson were the Winter League winners on 3rd December.

Winter League 3rd December & Christmas lunch

There was a good turnout for the Winter League today on both Rosemount and the Wee Course on a cold and frosty morning.  Noreen Fordyce continued her winning streak with a score of 41, narrowly pipping Eileen McMurray.  In Division 2 Elaine Robson won with a fantastic 36, beating Meriel Walker into second place with an equally impressive 38.

On the Wee Course, Shirley Irvine won with 22 points, on countback from Sheila Ridgeway.

If you wish to attend the Ladies Christmas lunch on Friday 10th December and have not yet booked, please do so before Wednesday 8th December.  It would help greatly if you could make your menu choices and pay (£18 in cash to the bar) by this date.  I look forward to seeing you there.

The draw for the Christmas Hamper will be made at the lunch - there is still time to buy a ticket if you have not already done so.  You could win a selection of festive goodies all presented in a very swanky hamper!  Proceeds are being donated to the Perth & Kinross Foodbank.

Saturday 27 November 2021

Winter is Here!

The conditions could have been described as challenging for the Stanley Clark competition yesterday!  We had sleet, snow, rain, wind and even a little sunshine.  Twenty ladies set off on Lansdowne (not all finished) but everyone was glad to get into the warm clubhouse before the weather took a turn for the worse.  Winners were Margaret Hunter in Division 1 and Kathy Cameron in Division 2.

🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅

Bookings are being taken for the Christmas lunch on Friday 10th December - see Carrie (behind the bar) or call the Club to book your place and make your menu choices.  For a vegetarian option or other dietary requirement, please speak to Carrie.

There is no organised golf on the morning of the Christmas lunch but if you want to play a few holes before lunch, please be reminded that proceedings will start at 12.00 for a 12.30 sit down.

Wednesday 24 November 2021

LADIES CHRISTMAS LUNCH - Friday 10th December

You should have received a communication by now regarding the Ladies Christmas lunch to be held on 10th December and I hope to see many of you there.  I apologise for the late notice of this event but, due to the imminent departure of Gary and Elaine and the need for the Club to set up new arrangements with staff and suppliers, this has been unavoidable.

As well as the usual Christmas fare, we will have a little entertainment, including a Christmas Quiz, and it will be an opportunity to chat with friends in a relaxed atmosphere.  Bookings are being taken now!

The Ladies Committee has put together a hamper of goodies which will be raffled for my chosen charity, the Perth & Kinross Foodbank.  The hamper will be displayed on the bar from this Friday - tickets are £1 each.

Wee Course scores - correction

The results for the Wee Course Winter competition yesterday were as follows:

Winner - Meryl Ferguson with 23 points

Runner up - Anne Spence with 18 points

and not as reported in the blog yesterday.  My apologies for the error.

Many congratulations to Meryl on a fantastic score.

Friday 19 November 2021

Oh What a Beautiful Morning!

Winter League - Friday 19th November

We played today's Winter League competition in sunny and balmy conditions (for November).  Some of the winter tees made for longer than normal holes, however - surely the 11th should have been a Par 6 today into the wind!  The winner in Division 1 was Noreen Fordyce with a score of 49, beating Jacqui Landsburgh by one shot.  In Division 2, Meriel Walker edged ahead of Elaine Robson, both scoring 49.

On the Wee Course Meryl Ferguson won with 17 points, on countback from Anne Spence.

Christmas Lunch

As you are all aware, Gary & Elaine Woodward are leaving at the end of this month and replacement caterers have not been appointed yet.  I am still confident that we will be able to have some form of Ladies Christmas lunch on Friday 10th December, although I cannot confirm menu or cost at the moment.  In the meantime, PLEASE SAVE THE DATE!

Winter Ringer - correction

Further to yesterday's blog, I wish to correct the rules relating to the submission of extra cards for the Winter Ringer competition.  It should have said:

You may submit additional cards for the Winter Ringer for any round of at least 9 holes played on Lansdowne (up to two cards per week) and improve the score on one hole per card.  After play, the score being entered on the Winter ringer sheet must be highlighted on the card.  The card should be signed and the marker's name entered before placing in the box in the Locker Room.  There is no need to inform the pro shop or enter the score on the computer.

When submitting additional cards for the Winter Eclectic on Rosemount, however, the pro shop must be informed and the score entered on the computer.

Full details of the rules of Winter competitions are displayed in the Locker Room.

Apologies for any confusion.

WINTER LEAGUE RESULTS - Friday 12th November

☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔☔

Despite less than ideal weather conditions, 30 ladies played in today's Winter League and Stanley Clark competition.  Anne Farquharson was the winner in Division 1 with a score of 46 and Margaret Hunter was runner-up with 47.  In Division 2 Heather Dawson won with a score of 48 on countback from Elaine Robson.  Well played ladies.

Five ladies played in the Wee Course Winter League - the winner was Sheila Ridgway with 18 points.

Remember that additional cards can be submitted for the Winter Ringer for any game on Lansdowne over at least 9 holes but you must advise the pro shop before play of your intention to submit a card.  After play enter the score on the computer and log your ringer score in the folder in the Locker Room.  Place your card in the box in the locker room.

SUNDAY WINTER LEAGUE MATCH - 7th November

We played our third Sunday Winter League Match of the season at home against Crail in sunny but blustery conditions.  The visitors coped well with using winter mats and were complimentary about the course, considering the heavy rainfall the previous day.

My thanks to the Blairgowrie team: Hazel Moore, Noreen Fordyce, Barbara Lyburn, Jacqui Doig and new member Hannah Pickford who managed a 2-1 win.

Afterwards we enjoyed a warming bowl of soup and sandwiches in the restaurant.  Our next, and final, Sunday Winter Match will be in February - more details will be posted nearer the time.

Below shows the ladies getting ready for play.

Saturday 6 November 2021

RESULTS - Friday 5th November

Turkey Trot & Winter League

There was a good turnout for the rearranged Turkey Trot held yesterday in fine conditions.  The results were:

Div 1: Winner - Sue Waddell; Runner-up - Noreen Fordyce (both 26 points)

Div 2: Winner - Ruth Watson (29 points); Runner up - Elaine Robson (27 points)

Vouchers for winners and runners-up will be presented at the Ladies Christmas lunch on 10th December.

Running concurrently with the Turkey Trot, we had the first day of our Winter League. Golf balls were presented to the winners - Sue Waddell and Ruth Watson - and it was great to see many ladies staying for something to eat or drink and having a chat afterwards.

On the Wee Course, Anne King was the Winner and Jean Laburn Runner-up in the Winter Stableford.

As some people seemed unsure about the use of mats, I take this opportunity to remind you that mats must be used on the fairway but not in the rough or semi-rough during competitions.

Below Sue and Ruth receiving their golf balls and I also took the opportunity to present Erica Espley with a ball as runner up in the recent Pinehurst competition, in which she was partnered by Denise Ginley.

WINTER LEAGUE

As you will have seen in the letter sent out from the Club on 27th October, there are a few changes to the Winter league due to the introduction of the World Handicapping System.

The weekly winners of Winter League competitions will no longer be deducted a stroke but we intend to continue announcing the winners at the end of the Friday competitions and presenting golf balls to the winners in each division.  This is a good opportunity for ladies to socialise following the game.

We will be playing off 2/3rds 95% handicap which will be calculated by the office and they will collate all the scores which should be entered into the computer in the normal way.  The only competition needing your manual input will be the Winter Ringer (should you wish to enter it). Ringers cards should be placed in the box in the Locker Room following play.

Full details of the operation of all the Ladies’ Winter Competitions have been posted on the notice board in the Locker Room for you to consult at any time.

To recap, the main points regarding the operation of the Winter League from 2021 are:

  • There will be no winter handicaps and no separate Summer & Winter Scoreboards
  • The Winter League & Winter Eclectic on Rosemount and Stanley Clark and Winter Ringer on Lansdowne will be run as previously
  • All Winter League competitions will be non-qualifying
  • Winners of the weekly Winter League competitions will not have a stroke deducted from their handicap
  • Competitions will continue to be over 12 holes (1-12 on Rosemount, 1-2, 9-18 on Lansdowne)
  • Playing Handicaps will be calculated as 2/3rds of 95% Course Handicap
  • Competition times will be mornings only (main competition on Friday and alternate day on Sunday)
  • There will be a weekly prize for the winners of Div. 1 and Div. 2/3 combined
***Don't forget mats will be required for all play from 4th November (in a competition, mats are to be used on the fairway only)***

Friday 29 October 2021

Turkey Trot #2

Well, it was more of a doggy-paddle, than a turkey trot today.  The rain was relentless and in the end only seven ladies played, and some played only 12 holes.   Medals for resilience go to Susan Arbuckle, Sue Waddell, Elaine Robson and Meriel Walker for lasting the course.  More sensibly, some ladies opted for coffee (or wine) and a game of bridge in the Clubhouse!  The Wee Course 4-clubs competition was also abandoned.

In view of the low numbers, I have decided to void the competition and to re-run it next Friday 5th November in conjunction with the first round of the Winter League.  As the Winter League is a 12-hole competition, on this occasion the Turkey Trot will be over 12 holes too.  As the Winter League is a Strokeplay competition, and the Turkey Trot is Stableford, you will be required to enter two scores on the computer if you wish to participate in both competitions (only one card required).

If you paid the £2 entry fee today, it will roll over to next week (if you are unable to play next week you will get a refund).  The online booking for next Friday has been amended and you only need to sign up once to enter both competitions.  If you wish to enter only one that is fine and you just need to enter the appropriate score after the game.

Fingers crossed for better weather next week!

Below some of the hardy souls who ventured out today.

WINTER LEAGUE MATCH AT LADYBANK - Sunday 24th October

Sunday 24th October saw six Blairgowrie ladies participate in our second Winter League Match at Ladybank.

The team captained by Sue Waddell received a warm welcome from the ladies at Ladybank. The course was in excellent condition despite all the recent rain and our ladies even enjoyed the new bunkers (well some of them did!).

Following the match, the ladies enjoyed soup and sandwiches in the clubhouse.

The result was a win to Ladybank 2 / 1 but the games were closely contested and there was plenty of fun and laughter during the round and in the clubhouse after the game.

Many thanks to Jillian Milne, Heather Dawson, Sue Waddell, Noreen Fordyce, Bronwen Godley and Carolyn Haddow for participating in this match.

The next Sunday Winter League Match will be at home on 7th November (against Crail) starting at 11.30. The sign up sheet is in the locker room.

PINEHURST - Friday 22nd October

Fourteen pairs played in Friday's Pinehurst competition.  Many of us hadn't played this format before, but it seemed to be popular as a fun competition and, hopefully, we can arrange another one at a later date.  The winners with a score of 71 were Mary Hope and Gill Tissell on countback from Erica Espley and Denise Ginley.

Nature note: Liz Ridsdale spotted this dragonfly as it hitched a ride on her club cover.

TURKEY TROT

Christmas is coming and so is the Turkey Trot, which will be held on Friday 29th October on Rosemount (morning only).  This is an individual, non-counting, Stableford competition and there is an entry fee of £2.00, payable to the starter.  The winners will receive vouchers, to be presented at the Ladies Christmas lunch on 10th December.

The online booking is open, so get trotting ……….!

Saturday 16 October 2021

GREENSOMES - FRIDAY 15TH OCTOBER

Sixteen pairs competed in Friday’s Greensomes competition in cold, but sunny conditions.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the relaxed format.  The winners, with a score of 72, were Claire Bidwell and Moira Stewart; runners up were Noreen Fordyce and Sue Waddell with 73.  Below is Ladies Captain Gill presenting the winners with golf balls.

Next Friday we have another pairs competition, this time a Pinehurst and, for those of you (myself included) who are unfamiliar with this format, an explanation follows:

Both players tee off, then each player plays their partner’s ball for the next shot.  Then you select which ball to continue playing with and play alternative shots with that ball until the ball is holed (the person whose ball is not selected playing the first shot).

GOOD LUCK TO MEGAN!

Good luck to Megan Ashley playing in the Perth & Kinross Ladies' Champion of Champions on Sunday 17th October at Pitlochry Golf Club.

SUNDAY WINTER LEAGUE MATCH AT ANSTRUTHER

Sunday 10th October saw six Blairgowrie ladies participate in our first Winter League Match at Anstruther.  The team, captained by Fiona Johnston, received a very warm welcome from the Anstruther Lady Captain and the Club Captain (the first female to be appointed to the position in the club).  The course was described as very challenging and was unfamiliar to most of the team.  Negotiating hills, gorse bushes and the East Neuk wind, the players were compensated by the stunning views.

Following the match, the ladies enjoyed soup and sandwiches in the clubhouse with much chatter and laughs being shared.

Anstruther took the honours 3-0 but the games were close considering our lack of knowledge of the venue.

Many thanks to Katie Chapman, Carolyn Haddow, Sheila Bruce, Sheila Ritchie, Heather Dawson, and especially Fiona, for participating in this event.

The next Sunday Winter League match will be away to Ladybank on 24th October starting at 11.00.  The sign-up sheet is in the locker room.

The photos below show a happy group of players following the match at Anstruther.

LADIES ANNUAL MEETING 08/10/2021

The Ladies’ Annual Meeting took place on Friday 8th October at 6.00pm in the clubhouse. Lady Captain Margaret Kerr welcomed everyone saying how pleased she was to be able to give her report in person, after the restrictions placed on meetings in the clubhouse over several months due to the Covid pandemic. She had enjoyed her two years as Lady Captain, despite the unexpected events which had lead to the Fixture List having to be completely re-organised
She thanked everyone who had helped and supported her.

    Thank you, Lady Captain!

Reports were read on behalf of Match Secretary Jacqui Landsburgh and Scratch Team Convenor Jillian Milne.
Lady Captain Margaret then handed over to Gill Tissell, the incoming Captain and presented her with the Lady Captain's badge. Gill introduced Sue Waddell, her Vice-Captain. Members elected to the ladies committee were Heather Dawson and Elaine Robson. Jo Stewart serves for one more year and Jacqui Landsburgh retires.
The Wee Course Ladies will be represented by Heather Welsh and Jeannie Webster, following Shirley Irvine's retirement.
Past Captain Margaret was presented with a bouquet of flowers by Gill in appreciation of her very successful two years as captain in difficult times

Final Update

My time being your Captain has passed so quickly- I cannot quite believe two years have passed since I took over from Fiona.  I have to say it was different to what I expected but it has been a very enjoyable experience and I am grateful for all the support and friendliness which I have encountered along the way.   I thank you all for the confidence you placed in me and it has been a privilege to have served as your Ladies Captain.

The final winners are as follows:-

The Medal Winners Medal winner was Mary Hope (net 73 bih) with Carolyn Haddow as runner up also with net 73.

A total of 80 ladies took part in the Eclectic competition on Rosemount which was won by Heather Anderson with a net 62 (bih) with Janice Lang as runner up also with a net  62.

The SLGA Best 4 rounds in Division 1 was won by Claire Bidwell with a total of 295 and in Division 2, the winner was Meriel Walker with a total of  294.

The winners of the Bob Malcolm Mixed Open were Janice Lang and Gordon Mitchell, who had the best score from  Blairgowrie members.

and just played today, the Gellatly Rosebowls winners by 1 up are Noreen Fordyce and Janette Hamilton who beat Sue Waddell and Brenda Kerr.

Heather Welsh won the Best 3 Medal Rounds competition on the Wee Course with 60 points  and Shirley Irvine was  runner up with 58 points.

The Ladies Captain v Ladies Vice Captain started in wet conditions but shortly after developed into a dry but breezy day.   What should have started our season off literally became the last match of the season.  The result was 5½ to 4½ -  the Ladies Captain’s team won but the result could have gone either way as it very much depended on the last team’s score.  The ladies enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine or mocktail after play and the Friendship Bowl was presented to the Ladies Captain.

Congratulations to all our winners this season.    I have really enjoyed keeping you all in the loop as much as possible with results and sharing some unusual pictures from the courses.

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Margret Kerr, Ladies Captain

Congratulations go to Denise and Rob Ginley – they won the Ping Qualifier earlier at Blairgowrie and  managed to get into the top 40 qualifiers to play at Gullane earlier this month.

As usual, I have a photo to share with you - never mind Sunshine on Leith, we have Sunshine on the Loch!  What wonderful scenery we have.

Some results

Medal 8 on 3rd September saw the following winners - Division 1 - Mary Hope (net 74) and  in Division 2 - Meriel Walker with a brilliant net 66.    Jean Laburn won the Wee Course Ladies Medal  with 21 points.

The Stormont Vase Mixed competition was played on 5th September - the winners were Murray and Mary Miller with a net score of 67 and Jamie and Ruth Watson were second with a net 72 with a better last six holes from David and Margaret Kerr also with net 72.

The winners of the Wee Course Ladies Scramble held on 8th September were Elaine Robson, Susan MacVean and Elizabeth Smith with a net score of 32 with a better last six holes.   Two teams were runners up  because it was impossible to differentiate - these were Weather Welsh, Kay Thomson and Linda Clark  and Ann Henry, Doreen Johnston, and Anne Gellatly.    6 teams of 3 ladies played that day and 5 teams all recorded scores of  net 32.

The last friendly match of the season was played at Forfar in very pleasant conditions.  The result was a 3-1 win for Forfar but everyone enjoyed the game, the company and the meal afterwards.  Some photos of the post-match meal are attached plus a view of the burn and the rowan trees between 9th & 10th holes.

and an unusual fungus found on a tree stump at the back of the 17th tee on Lansdowne.

Sunday 5 September 2021

Results and Updates

The winner of the Millennium Trophy with the best 2 rounds out of 3  was Denise Ginley with a total of 76 points with Jacqui Doig as runner up with 75 points.

The friendly match against Crieff did not take place as they were unable to field a team and  Pitlochry were only able to field a team of 6 instead of the usual 8.

The Perth & Kinross Handicap League matches have now all been played - the  result of these  is that Blairgowrie won two, lost one and drew one.  Auchterarder and Dunkeld now play in the final.

Medal 7 was won by Mary Hope (Division 1) with a net 73 and Elaine Robson (Division 2) with a net 71.

As at 27th August, the Wee Course Eclectic competition shows Morna Bell in first position so far.

On 30th August the friendly Tri-Am Club Match with players from Blairgowrie, Panmure and Carnoustie was hosted by the Carnoustie Ladies and was played on the Burnside Course at Carnoustie.  Each team comprised one player from each Club with the format of 1 net score on holes 1-6, 2 net scores on holes 7-12 and 3 net scores on holes 13-18.   The winning team with a score of 134  consisted of  Margaret Hunter (Blairgowrie) May Ritchie (Carnoustie) and Marion Duthie (Panmure).

The Solheim Cup is now underway and one of the European Team may seem familiar to those of you who remember the Junior Ryder Cup at Blairgowrie in September 2014.  The player is Emily Pedersen from Denmark who was 18 when she played at Blairgowrie and turned professional the following year.  Since then, she has enjoyed five wins on the European Tour.   Here's hoping for  success over the weekend.

There is still time to put forward any nominations (which must be duly proposed and seconded) for three  Ladies' Committee vacancies or any other matter relating to the ladies' events and competitions.  These must be received by me by 20th of September for intimation before the Ladies Annual Meeting scheduled for 8th October.

A view taken of the Black Loch last week  during a very fine and still afternoon.

Competition Results

The Wee Course continues to see good entries for their competitions.  16 ladies played on 13th August in the medal with Ann Henry winning with 19 points.

Medal 6 winners are - Brenda Clough (Div 1) with net 72 and Lesley McPherson (Div 2) with net 78. The Centenary Medal was won by Brenda Clough with the best net score.

The Mixed Karrinyup 4BBB stableford  played on 15th August was won by Murray and Mary Miller (better last 6) with 42 points and runners up Peter and Hilary Inglis also with 42 points.

On 16th August, we had our friendly match  at home against Pitlochry who could only manage to field 6 players - the result was a draw;   later on that day, the re-scheduled Handicap League match against Strathmore was played but Blairgowrie lost  4/1 to Strathmore.

Our Ladies Past Captains' Day competition on Tuesday 17th August  on Rosemount in fine weather.  There were fewer ladies playing this year due to holidays, injuries and ill health - a few of our Past Ladies Captains are now in are residential homes and unable to take part.    We had a very enjoyable buffet lunch after play and I introduced Gill Tissell, our Ladies Vice Captain to the Ladies.  Jean Laburn won the competition on the Wee Course  and Fiona Johnston was the winner of the Claret Jug.  Lots of photos were taken but here are two of the best.
