END OF SEASON DINNER 30/10/2015

A good time was had by all at the End-of-Season Dinner last night.  After enjoying a hearty meal, we settled back to be entertained by guest speaker Emil Pacholek, who is a wonderful reconteur of amusing stories and jokes with a golf theme.  Our Lady Captain, Kathy Cameron, gave the vote of Thanks, making mention of Emil's time with "Jackie" Magazine, where his desk sat next to  the desk of Past Captain, Margaret Hunter...and that wasn't yesterday.

LADIES' ANNUAL MEETING OCTOBER 16TH 2015

The Blairgowrie Ladies gathered for the AGM and Prize Giving today. Kathy Cameron was nominated and approved as the new Ladies' Captain. Sadly, the previous Vice Captain was unable to take up the post as Captain due to being unwell. The Ladies' Management Agreement states that if the VC is unable to take up the post of Captain then the Ladies' Committee can co opt a member from the Ladies' Section as Vice Captain any time before the Annual Meeting(Rule 3.4& 3.5). The last Captain Elizabeth Davie did kindly offer to stand for another year, but this was not possible as it went against the Management Agreement. Once the one year term of the Captain is up then she must stand down and is not allowed to return to the committee for three years(Rule 2.3). Luckily Kathy Cameron agreed to take on the Captaincy. She has served on the Ladies' Committee in the past and has served on the Club's main committee for six years as House Convenor.

Kathy has managed to put together a very good committee. Meriel Walker comes on as Vice Captain. Other new members include Heather Dawson, Caroline Haddow, Fiona Johnston, Margaret Kerr and they will be joining Janice Lang and Aileen Priestly.

Dates for the diary:
  • Bridge starts in the lounge Tuesday 20th October
  • 4 Club Competition Friday 23rd October
  • Turkey Trot Friday 30th October
  • Winter League starts Friday 6th November
  • Ladies’ Christmas Luncheon Friday 11th December
