TURN UP AND PLAY

The weather today was awful up until 11:12 but after that the sun came out and it was a very pleasant day to play golf. Committee Member Mary Miller organised today's event and the only strokes to be counted were the number of putts taken on the green. Silver winner was Sandy Bushby with 27 putts. The Bronze winner was Joan Kirkwood who had 39 putts.

FROM THE MATCH SECRETARY

April showers, some wind and sun were the order of the day yesterday, when the ladies played in the club's second friendly match against Elie at home. Both teams were happy to play the match over the 16 holes available on Rosemount and have access to an early refreshment, taking into consideration the conditions.

Following the match, again the teams had a hearty meal in the dinning room, with both captains giving their vote of thanks.  Many thanks to the Blairgowrie team of Avril Smith, Ann Henry, Sheila Ritchie, Shona Dean, Diane Wallace, Christine Ogilive, Jennifier Livingstone and Kathy Cameron, captain for the day.  The result was a win to Blairgowrie, 3-1, well done.

The next 5 matches are now up on the noticeboard, so please take a look and sign up.  Your support is greatly appreciated and as stated previously a great opportunity to play other courses.

FROM THE MATCH SECRETARY

Our Friendly Matches commenced yesterday, with Healther Dawson (Captain) leading an enthusiastic team against Forfar at home on a sunny afternoon, which I hope is a sign of good weather and golf to come over the summer.

Heather reported that the games were all enjoyable, with a fair result of 2-2 being the outcome. Both teams enjoyed a beautiful meal in the dining room after the match with each captain giving their vote of thanks.  Well done team.   Our next match is at home on Monday 24th April against Elie.

FROM THE MATCH SECRETARY

Good morning Ladies, and I hope that you will all have a great Easter weekend, wherever and whatever you are up to.  Monday 17th April sees the start of our Match Friendlies, with a keen team ready to take on Forfar Ladies on Landsdowne at 1.00pm.  All the best to the team, enjoy the game and the social gathering afterwards

I would like, in advance to thank all the ladies who have signed up for the matches on the noticeboard to date. However, I would also like to emphasise that if you are unsuccessful in being selected one week, rest assured you will be selected in matches to come. I acknowledge that the Friendly matches have been well established in our fixture list for a good number of years, but please put your name down for the Handicap league games.  There are only 7 in total, there is no handicap restriction and these matches are social and played over some different courses than those to the Friendly games.

I would encourage you all, to support and represent your club in all aspect of our golf game.

Many thanks again.

COLUMBINE CUP 11/04/2017

Graeme Hunter and Lady Captain, Meriel Walker
The annual Match for the Columbine Cup between the Senior  Gents and the Ladies took place on  Tuesday 11th April, with 6 Matches on Rosemount and 6 Matches on Lansdowne.  As usual it was a hard-fought contest, with Matches going right down to the wire.  Lady Captain Meriel Walker had high hopes our Team could  win this 27th encounter, alas, it was not to be...we lost!  The most important thing is, however,  that all had a great time,  the Matches were played in a wonderful spirit and  the day was rounded off with an excellent meal provided by Paul and Jayne.  Thanks to all who helped and made the day a success - and congratulations to  Senior Gents Captain Graeme Hunter and his Team.
