WINTER LEAGUE 30th NOVEMBER

The weather stayed  dry for most ladies playing Winter League on Rosemount today, only the last 2 groups were unlucky and caught the rain.
Sandy Bushby was playing in her last competition  before moving to Lincolnshire.  Lady Captain, Fiona Johnston, thanked Sandy for the huge contribution she has made to the Ladies Section of the Club over many years and presented her with a card and farewell gift.

LADIES CHRISTMAS LUNCH

ANNUAL PRIZE-GIVING

There was  an excellent turnout for the Annual Prize Giving last night. First up was the Junior Section  prize-giving. The Junior Convenor, Neil Wilkie, gave us  a review of the Juniors'  amazing achievements this year. We were pleased to hear how well Katy Alexander had done, playing for the Scottish schools championship girls team winners; winning the Ladies Highland Open at Pitlochry, a Junior Tour Event at the Duke’s and scratch events at both the Pitlochry and Strathmore Junior Opens. Katy becomes Junior Captain next season.

Following a convivial meal the trophies and prizes were presented by Captain Brian Wesencraft and Past  Lady Captain Sandy Bushby deputising for the Lady Captain, Fiona Johnston, who had a long-standing prior engagement.  The Managing Secretary, Steven Morgan, directed operations and made sure everything ran like clockwork.  Thanks must go to the office staff for all the work in organising the magnificent display of gleaming trophies, vouchers and commemorative glasses.

FRIENDLY MATCH CONVENORS

Match Convenors

Good afternoon ladies.  It's time again for the Committee and the office staff to confirm our Friendly Matches, both home and away for 2019.

Some of the Ladies who carried out this task last year have already volunteered, but others are still needed. You will be responsible for selecting the team to play on the day and will be Captain on the day, if you play. You will also be responsible for making contact with the other team via email, a week prior to the match to confirm all is in place for the match.

All the dates for the matches have not yet been confirmed, but once they are they will be made available to the convenors for you to select the dates you will be responsible for.

This is an early heads up, but I would like to have all convenors identified by the end of December.  Please contact any member of the Committee or email myself @johnstonf60@yahoo.co.uk

WINTER LEAGUE COMMENCES

Bronze Winner
June Dargie

Today was the first Friday of the Winter League and 24 ladies played in beautiful Autumn sunshine over 12 holes on the Rosemount course. Two ladies also played on Sunday 28th October, in our first alternative day in respect of the Winter League

Today the scores were very close with 4 ladies in the Silver section recording a Nett score of 49.  The ladies were Linda Rice, Katie Chapman, Lesley Findley, and Eileen McMurray.  Linda was the winner on countback on the inward half.

Pictured above June is presented with her winning golf ball with a great score of 45 nett.

There was a lively atmosphere in the lounge with members enjoying refreshments prior to the announcement of the winners.

Can I remind you all that next week sees the start of the Stanley Clarke Trophy, which will be every second and fourth Friday and Sunday respectively.  Also, when you come into the club house after your round during the Winter League, could you please enter your score in the computer, enter the ringer or eclectic if you wish and give your card to Margaret Kerr who is now our Competition Secretary. She will liaise with Joan in the office, who will still close the competition off.  If Margaret is not there another Committee member will be nominated.

Let's hope the weather is good for us next week.
