Ladies, the Office is closed today (Wednesday 26th December), so the Draw for Friday's Winter League was done in advance.  If you would like to play,  do please come along at 10.00am as usual and we'll fit you in.

GOLF TODAY

Our last competition before Xmas was affected by the frozen conditions of the course. However, that did not stop 5 hardy ladies venturing out to play the Wee course, while the rest of us enjoyed hot chocolate and coffee, awaiting them to complete their round, with some choosing to do 18 holes.  Hats off to YOU great fun golfers.

It certainly was good to see folk enjoying themselves and bringing cheer to others as members and guests arrived for a hearty lunch. There will be golf next Friday 28th December before we ring in the New Year.

I hope to see you then and that leaves me only to say Merry Xmas to one and all.

MERRY XMAS

Good afternoon ladies.  As we approach the 25th December, a wonderful time to enjoy the love of family and friends, the Ladies' Committee would like to wish you all a very Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.

Jo Stewart and Pauline Hill have been pro-active in organising our forth coming Winter Social activities, which commence on Monday 7th January 2019.  Please keep checking the Blog for details of these events and also the posters in the lockers area and at the entrance to the clubhouse.

It was a beautiful morning for Winter League today. The golf was great fun on frosty fairways under brilliant blue skies. The scores were amazing!

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Competition Levies for 2019

Good evening all ladies.  The long awaited envelope containing your forthcoming invoice for membership for 2019, is shortly due to be sent out.  The envelope will also contain information regarding the levies for 2019 and how to pay this.

This year, if you intend to play in the Ladies' Club Competitions, you will be required to add your levy fee to that of your club membership and pay both together. If you do not wish to play in the competitions, then please inform office staff at the time of paying your membership.

This change allows a smoother collection of funds for the office staff and the ladies' committee.

The levies remain at £5.00 and £2.00 for wee course members.

PRE-SEASON COACHING 2019

Charles Dernie has advised that the sign-up sheet for his  pre-season coaching classes which begin in March 2019 is full. If you have missed out you can still add your name to the Waiting List in the
Pro Shop. The cost for the five-week course is £30 and must be paid by 28th February. If anyone has not paid by the due date,  the place will be offered to the next lady on the Waiting List.

KIDS PARTY!

We don't know who had more fun at the Childrens' Christmas Party today - the kids or the Lady Captain! Everyone had a super time - especially the grannies.

Well done to our great team at the Club who worked so hard to make the day a cracking success.

LADIES CHRISTMAS LUNCH

There was a cosy, convivial atmosphere in the Clubhouse today as 58 ladies met up  for the Christmas Lunch.  After enjoying pre-lunch drinks and mocktails Lady Captain Fiona Johnstone and her committee worked hard to keep ladies entertained between  tasty courses, with a festive quiz, lucky seat prize, and a "head and tails" elimination.
Fiona announced that her charity for 2018 - 2019 is Parkinsons (Scotland) and was pleased to tell ladies the collection taken at the lunch  amounted to £351, a magnificent sum. This included a contribution of £95  from the raffle for an exquisite Christmas  throw, hand made by Jo Stewart.
To conclude the afternoon past captain Janice Lang gave a hearty vote of thanks to the committee for all the hard work which goes into organising the lunch.  She also thanked the caterers for an excellent meal and the bar staff.
** PLEASE NOTE : the sign up sheets for Charles Dernie's  popular pre-season coaching  classes, beginning in February,  are now in the Locker Room and filling up fast. All dates for 2019 events, and a winter social calendar will be posted regularly on the Blog.
