Friendly match away to Forfar

Our Match Secretary has asked me to inform you all that we have a re-scheduled friendly match away at Forfar on September 6th at  1pm.  There are only two names entered on the list on the notice board.      Could I remind ladies of this as of course it is not on the fixture list.      Also, when the ladies entered their names online months ago, it was a different date to the one we have now.

Up to date results, etc.

Following our Committee meeting on 26th July, it was decided that the Ladies Captain v Ladies Vice Captain's match will now take place on Friday,1st October and the  entry sheet for this will be posted later on the upstairs ladies locker notice board.   The 3 club & putter competition will now be played on 8th October.

Emily Aird is now to turn professional and we wish her the best of luck in her forthcoming career  south of  the border.

On 23rd July, the winners of Medal 5 were Sheila Ritchie (73) - Division 1 and Elizabeth Tosh (72) in Division 2 and the Wee Course Eclectic round was won by Sheila Ridgway with 28 points.

The winners of the Coronation Foursomes, Sheila Bruce and Sheila Ritchie played in the Regional Finals at Banchory in fine weather.   They did not win but say they  thoroughly enjoyed the experience and met some very nice people.

The Handicap League match against Strathmore on 26th July had to be abandoned due to thunder and lightning after only nine holes had been played.  In accordance with the rules, this match requires to be replayed over 18 holes on 16th August.

Some pictures from the match against Downfield played on Lansdowne also  on 26th July.  It was hot and sticky but the ladies were finished well before the thunderous rain.   Blairgowrie won 2-1.

Forfar Golf Club Ladies Open is on 4th August starting at 10 a.m. - if anyone is interested in playing please email Roz Kennedy at info@forfargolfclub.co.uk

Apology

My sincere apologies to Jacqui Doig who won the second round of the Millennium Trophy in Division 3 with 45 points.   I had said the winner was Liz Fertacz with 39 points but of course she was the winner in Division 1.   I have sent a personal apology to Jacqui but wanted to keep things on the straight and narrow on the blog.
