VARIOUS RESULTS 02/07/2013

The weather was looking a bit dodgy for  Turn Up And Play today,  but nine enthusiastic ladies came along to  take part in the fun Tri-am.  One team wished to play only 12 holes,  so the competition was divided into two sections.  The winners of the 12 hole competition were Jean Laburn, Birte Buckett and Christine Smith and the winners of the 18 hole competition were Heather Dawson, Jen Geddes and Katie Chapman.
Thanks to all who came along and to the weather, which was kind to us!
KATY CHAPMAN

Our match at Strathmore in the afternoon  was played in heavy rain.  The Match also  clashed with the Scottish Foursomes Competition,  so after taking  well over 3 hours for 12 holes, both Captains consulted their teams and we decided to  conclude the Match at the 12th Hole  and take the result from the scores as they stood at the 12th. The result was a win for Blairgowrie by 2.5 to 1.5.
Special thanks are due to Ann Henry who  stood in for  Brenda Clough at the last minute. Ann had already played 12 holes in the Turn Up And Play  when she  was asked if she could fill in for Brenda. The other Team members today were Margaret Hunter, Barbara Lyburn, Doreen Johnston, Janette Hamilton, Fiona Barron, Sue Dunbar and  Avril Smith.

Ladies Senior Invitation Day.

Just a reminder that the forms for Ladies Senior Invitation Day on Tuesday 13th August are available from the desk in the Pro shop and online. Don't miss out on a fun day!

THE WEEK AHEAD

Some of our ladies are competing at the Scottish Senior Ladies Amateur Championship at West Linton, near Edinburgh  from July 2 - 5.  We send our best wishes to  Liz Fertacz, Gillian Wallace, Mary Hope, Sandy Bushby, Jen Petrie and Heather  Anderson.  Heather will be defending the
Scottish Senior Ladies Matchplay Trophy which she won at Kemnay
12 months ago. Good luck everyone!

TUESDAY 2nd July  : TURN UP AND PLAY
This month's Turn Up And Play will take place  on Rosemount with Katy Chapman in charge.  Katy is planning a fun Tri-am. We have tees booked from 9.03am until 10.06am, so please get to the Locker Room  by 8.45am if you would prefer an early tee off time, and by 9.30am at the latest.
Unfortunately Turn Up And Play clashes with our friendly match against Strathmore (away), so some ladies won't  be around to  support this fixture, but we are  still hopeful of a good turn-out.
