The winners were Linda Rice, Fiona Johnston and Brenda Kerr with a score of 147 for the best nett

CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 28TH JUNE 2026
It was a beautiful day but windy which made some of the shots our two finalists, Alison Gow and Fiona Johnston, played all the more special. It started very even, one going one up and then the other but towards the turn Alison started to edge ahead and made it a tough battle for Fiona to come back from.
Well played to both ladies and congratulations to the new Ladies Champion, Alison Gow.

PROSTATE CANCER DAY 18TH JUNE
Ladies,
On behalf of myself, Maggie and Elaine, we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to every single person who donated, shared our story, encouraged us and supported us during our recent challenge of playing 45 holes of golf in one day at The Blairgowrie Golf Club in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
On Thursday 18th June, we walked approximately 18 kilometres, battled tired legs, sore feet and a few challenging holes along the way, but thanks to your incredible generosity, every step was worthwhile.
We are absolutely delighted to have raised £5,135 as a ladies team, helping contribute to more than £17,000 raised overall by the 8 teams of 3, playing on the day. This is an achievement we could never have reached without your support.
This challenge was about much more than golf. It was about raising awareness of a major disease that affects 1 in 8 men, encouraging earlier diagnosis, and helping fund research that can save lives. We have seen first-hand how early detection can make all the difference, and if our efforts encourage even one more man to get checked sooner, then every mile walked and every golf ball struck was worth it. Sadly, 1 in 3 men in Scotland only receive diagnosis when it’s too late.
Your kindness, generosity and messages of support kept us going throughout the day and reminded us why we were doing this. Knowing so many people were behind us gave us the determination to finish all 45 holes with smiles on our faces.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us make a difference and for supporting such an important cause.
Together, we are helped to create a future where more men receive an earlier diagnosis and have a better chance of successful treatment.
With sincere gratitude,
Pauline, Maggie & Elaine

MATCH FRIENDLY BLAIRGOWRIE V EDZELL AWAY 15TH JUNE 2026
Our ladies enjoyed a keenly fought match against Edzell. The course was in excellent condition, there was no rain but the temperature is still struggling to feel like a summer's day. The Edzell ladies were very welcoming and helpful during the round. Sad to see that they lost so many trees in the great storm of 2022 it has changed the look of some of the holes. Some of our ladies played there for the first time and really enjoyed the challenge especially on the back nine.
We had an excellent meal after the match and good to see lots of members enjoying the restaurant facility.
The ladies from Edzell won 3 1/2 to 1/2 despite our best efforts.
Thanks go to Sue Waddell, Meriel Walker, Carolyn Haddow, Louise Luke, Gill 'Tissell, Mary Miller, Lorraine MacGregor and Heather Dawson (team captain)

HANDICAP LEAGUE KING JAMES VI V BLAIRGOWRIE AWAY 8TH JUNE
The King James VI away handicap league match saw the team beat the rain into the clubhouse and secure a 3-2 victory. This was a welcome reversal after last year's home defeat. The evenly matched pairings and low shots given reflected the close contest, with one match going to the 18th and a grudge return match win. A special thanks goes to the team for their trip: Jo Menzies (team captain), Judith Carmichael, Morna Bell, Elaine Robson and Heather Dawson

HANDICAP LEAGUE PERTH LADIES V BLAIRGOWRIE AT HOME
The Blairgowrie Ladies welcomed Perth Ladies on Bank Holiday Monday to play in our first match of the new Handicap Season. The weather was beautiful with warm sunshine which lasted till almost 9.30 pm, with first match teeing off at 5 pm.
Most of the games were very close, with players relying on final putts on the 18th hole to win the game.
Following the match both teams enjoyed tea/coffee or soft drinks in the clubhouse, where a vote of thanks were expressed by both Team Captains on the night.
As Team Captain I would like to thank the team of Mary Miller, Jo Menzies, Elaine Robson and Louise Luke for their contributions. Blairgowrie came home winners with a 3-2 result

ACADEMIA CLASSIC MATCH AWAY AT DUNKELD AND BIRNAM
We had a beautiful sunny day for our 2nd round Academia Classic Fixture away to Dunkeld and Birman. The course is challenging, one with undulating terrain, elevated tees and greens and, on a couple of holes, water courses, but the views are spectacular all the way round. Pauline Hill kindly provided everyone with 'Strokesaver' information to help us navigate the course which proved very useful. Club choice is crucial and the home ladies used their knowledge in this respect to good advantage. Good golf was played by both teams in this singles matchplay event, but Dunkeld just edged it with a 3-2 win.
thanks to the Blairgowrie ladies Claire Bidwell, Teresa Lynch, Maggie Marshall, Pauline Hill and Gill Tissell (Team Captain)
MATCH FRIENDLY BLAIRGOWRIE V STRATHMORE AWAY 26TH MAY
Our ladies enjoyed a lovely welcome on a beautiful day at Strathmore. The azaleas and rhododendrons in full bloom are a particular feature on various holes and the course was in excellent condition. The greens were tricky for us with lots of undulations. Strathmore won the day 4-0.
Thanks go to Linda Rice (Team Captain) Eileen Brown, Fiona Edwards, Denise Ginley, Heather Dawson and Jacqui Landsburgh, Jo Menzies and Louise Whitehead.

FRIENDLY MATCH V CRAIL 18TH MAY
Our ladies set out to play in clear, sunny albeit windy conditions for our match at Crail on Monday, 18 May. Thankfully the weather remained kind to us for the most part with the cold wind and rain appearing towards the end of some rounds.
HOME FRIENDLY MATCH V CARNOUSTIE CALEDONIA 11TH MAY
We welcomed the Carnoustie Caledonia Ladies in cool but dry conditions. Rosemount was looking in superb condition, a fact commented on by the visiting team members, and we all appreciated that the divotting squads had been out that morning. The Carnoustie Ladies were particularly complimentary about the quality of our greens. Some excellent golf was witnessed and mention must be made of the Carnoustie lady who had an eagle on the 1st! However, the home team prevailed with an excellent 3-1 win.

LADIES AWAY DAY PITFIRRANE GOLF CLUB 17TH SEPTEMBER 2026
Away Day Pitfirrane Golf Club
Thursday 17th September 2026
We are looking forward to playing at Pitfirrane Golf Club set in a beautiful parkland setting around Pitfirrane Castle. We are looking at the costing for hiring a coach to take us there. Without the coach the cost would be approximately £40. With rising fuel costs if we have the coach this will add another £15 to £20 depending on how many opt for the coach.
There is a sign-up sheet in the ladies locker room for you to add your name if you are participating and tick whether you want the coach or own transport in order to make a decision.

FRIENDLY MATCH V ST ANDREWS UNIVERSITY 26TH APRIL
HOME FRIENDLY MATCH v ST ANDREWS UNIVERSITY - Sunday 26 April
The sun came out for us today as we welcomed a lovely team from St Andrews University. None of our visitors had played the course previously and it was a pleasure to hear their compliments as they enjoyed Rosemount and praised its excellent condition. Thank you to our greenkeeping team for all their work.
All matches were keenly contested and congratulations go to the Blairgowrie ladies for bringing home a fantastic 4 - 0 win.
After play we enjoyed a post match refreshment on the patio before sharing stories over a delicious meal in the dining room. Thank you to our hospitality team for looking after us so well.
As always, many thanks to Gill Tissell, Denise Ginley, Anne Farquharson, Fiona Edwards, Teresa Lynch, Angela Rooney, Megan Ashley and team captain Elaine Robson for giving up their time to support the Club. An extra thanks to Brenda Kerr for stepping in at the last minute to fill a late vacancy in the visiting team which was very much appreciated.
