We had 18 ladies for Winter League today. Conditions were  good, despite a frosty start.

WINTER LEAGUE FRIDAY 21st FEBRUARY 2014

Today the weather was not good to us. We had wind and rain and as a result only thirteen ladies managed to play. After a few holes, it did brighten up and the odd patch of blue sky was spotted.

The Silver winner was Margaret Kerr with a nett 52 and the runner up was Sandy Bushby with a nett 54. The Bronze winner was Anne Spence with a nett 52 (bih) and the runner up was Katy Chapman. Vice Captain Elizabeth Davie kindly presented the prizes to the winners.

CLUB MATCHES 2014

The sign up sheets for the 2014 club matches are now on the match notice board. (First match 21st April) Sign up for a great way to meet ladies from other clubs and a chance to play a variety of clubs at a very reduced rate. The matches are open to Silver and Bronze ladies, so no excuse not to support your club. It's a great day out!

Today we had over 20 ladies out for the winter league which was great. Weather not quite as spring like as last week but at least we stayed dry. We were out on Lansdowne playing to winter greens.

Even though our Captain, Margaret Hunter, is sunning herself in South Africa, she very kindly gave all the ladies who played today a chocolate heart to celebrate Valentine's Day.

BLAIRGOWRIE BOOK CLUB

The next book to be read by the Blairgowrie Book Club is the Glass Palace

by Amitav Ghosh.

The Glass Palace is a  historical novel by Indian writer Amitav Ghosh. The novel is set in Burma, Bengal, India, and Malaya, spans a century from the fall of the Konbaung Dynasty in Mandalay, through the Second World War to modern times. 

The Club will next meet on Tuesday March 18th at 2:30. If this book intrigues you please do join us.
