The next Turn Up and Play day is this coming Tuesday and will be run by Avril Smith. Fingers crossed for a warm, sunny day! (One this summer would be nice!)

SENIOR LADIES INVITATION DAY - 25/08/15

Senior Ladies Invitation Day 2015

Today, Senior Ladies Invitation Day took place over Rosemount. The format was a Greensomes and thankfully conditions were near perfect overhead and the course itself was in excellent condition. The ladies retired to the dining room after the game and enjoyed an excellent meal and some lively chat.

PANMURE BARRY v BLAIRGOWRIE FRIENDLY MATCH RESULT

Panmure Barry v Blairgowrie 24/08/15

Today Blairgowrie Ladies travelled to Panmure Golf Club to play this season's final annual friendly match against Barry Ladies. With a weather forecast over the weekend painting a dreadful picture for today it actually turned out to be a fantastic day for golf! (Michael Fish all over again...!) The matches were played with "well kent" faces and new, with Barry Ladies, who mixed up their handicaps well, running out winners 2 1/2 to 1 1/2. A special mention must go to Doreen Johnston and Heather Dawson for coming back after being 5 down to secure a half! Brilliant!

As ever I/we have to thank the ladies in the Team for representing our club.

DOWNFIELD v BLAIRGOWRIE FRIENDLY MATCH RESULT

Downfield v Blairgowrie 17/08/15

Blairgowrie Ladies travelled to Downfield Golf Course in Dundee for our annual friendly match on Monday 17th August. Many of you will know that Downfield is a long course and is never easy! Our ladies put up a brave fight against a very strong team but sadly lost 4 - 0.

This Friday, 28th August, is the Gold and Silver Medals plus the Hoad Super Senior (70+).

LADIES' PAST CAPTAIN'S DAY AUGUST 18TH 2015

Past Captains dating back to 1981 gathered at Blairgowrie today. Despite the rain pouring nonstop the competition went ahead. Afterwards seventeen players and non players enjoyed pre-lunch drinks in the lounge and then a superb luncheon in the dining room. All the past captains were presented with a lovely yellow stemmed rose and a parcel of chocolate treats.

After the meal, Captain Elizabeth Davie thanked everyone for coming and presented the Past Captain's Trophy for the best stableford score on Rosemount. Two players Elizabeth Fertacz and Maureen Reid had a winning score of thirty three points, but Elizabeth's twenty-two points on the inward half meant that she won the trophy. The ladies were then treated to an impromtue poetry reading by Janette Hamilton about a wee mouse that had too much wine at Sunday Communion. Proceedings were rounded up with Lady Dorothy Hardie who was delighted to attend and thanked Elizabeth for organising the day.

FRIENDLY MATCH RESULT V PITLOCHRY

Pitlochry v Blairgowrie Annual Friendly Match - 10/08/15

Today, Blairgowrie Ladies played our annual friendly match against Pitlochry Ladies at Pitlochry. Sadly we were notified at a late stage that Pitlochry could only field a team of 6, owing to a Scratch League Match taking place today. Unexpectedly, on arrival, it was declared it was to be a Greensomes format.... The weather did not behave and the ladies were drenched with some thunder thrown in too! When time came to retreat to the clubhouse the match was, 1 up, 1 down and 1 all square - so a halved match! 

A very big thank you goes to our soggy team who represented our Club today!
