FROM THE MATCH SECRETARY

Blairgowrie Ladies v Panmure Barry
Yesterday was the last game of our Friendly fixtures for the season, with Mary Hope, captain for the day, leading an enthusiastic team of Liz Fertacz, Elaine Smith, Sheila Ritchie, Doreen Johnston, Dianne Wallace, Judith Clowe and Kathy Cameron.  It was a lovely day with the sun shinning and players reporting that the course continues to be in good condition.  The overall result went to Panmure 2.5 - 1.5.

Following the match, both teams enjoyed a meal in the dinning room, with both captains giving their vote of thanks.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the players who have volunteered to represent the club over the season and to encourage even more ladies to put their names down next year.  The fixtures give members the chance to play on other courses, at no cost, other than paying for their meal. It is also a good opportunity to meet golfers from other areas and build new friendships.

I have really enjoyed the year, especially chatting with team members and getting their feedback on games.  Well done ladies and thank you again.

Blairgowrie Ladies v. Downfield

Monday this week saw team captain Katie Chapman welcome the Downfield ladies to a sunny Blairgowrie, with the Rosemount course being in good condition. The games were very close with 3 out of 4 being decided on the last green, although the final result was 3.5 to .5 in Downfield's favour.

However, excluding the overall result a great day was had by all, with lovely weather, good company and the meal afterwards being of the usual high standard. The Downfield ladies expressed their thanks and asked that the catering staff be congratulated on a magnificent meal.

Many thanks goes to the team of Katie Chapman, (team Captain), Margaret McGlashan, Ann Henry, Cathy Irving, Jo Stewart, Doreen Johnston, Dianne Wallace and our newest recruit Julie Wink, who played her first friendly for the club.

Monday 22nd August, sees our last match of the friendly fixtures for the season, this being at home to Panmure.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have volunteered throughout the season and making my task very enjoyable.  I have met so many warm people who I have not had the opportunity to play with and this has certainly been a highlight to my year.

  2. Qualifying scores are those returned in Club qualifying competitions(Home or Away), Supplementary Scores or 9 hole qualifying events.Scores returned socially or in match play competition are notacceptable.
  3. Exemptions are permitted for those who have had health/injuryproblems or have been out of the Country and this has prevented themfrom returning the required number of qualifying scores.
