NAME OF LC v VC TROPHY

Thank you for all the proposed names for the LC v VC Trophy which will be competed for in March this year.  The Ladies Committee have chosen the name 'The Friendship Bowl' from the suggestions received.

WINTER LEAGUE FRIDAY 26TH JANUARY

After so many cancelled days because of the weather it was lovely to see 16 Ladies play on Lansdowne on Friday.  The sky was blue and along with some good scores it really was very pleasant.

The Ladies Section Golf Outing this year will be to Forfar Golf Club, where Mary Miller has managed to arrange a block booking for us on Wednesday 1st August.

WINTER SOCIAL MONDAY 22nd JANUARY 2018

Very many thanks to Jo Stewart who brought along some of her lovely quilting for us to admire today.

As you can see her work is outstanding and extremely skilful. Her ideas, creativeness and combinations of colour were very impressive and left most of us quite envious.

But how good it is to see such creative talent in our ladies section.  Thank you Jo, we really appreciated you bringing in all your lovely work.

Some of the ladies invited friends and we hope they enjoyed our Winter Social and will come again.

WINTER LEAGUE & STANLEY CLARK COMPETITIONS

Members who play throughout the winter are reminded that they can also submit scores for the Winter Ringer which is played over 12 holes on Lansdowne and the Winter Eclectic played over 10 holes on Rosemount.

Entry to the Winter Ringer is automatic if playing in the Winter League.  The Winter Eclectic is open to full members only.

Any extra cards submitted for the Ringer or Eclectic must be signed by player and marker and put in the box in the Ladies locker room.

Folders, containing instructions and sheets to be completed, can be found in the locker room.

LADIES WINTER SOCIALS

On Monday this week these ladies enjoyed making their own ball markers from washers and nail varnish. All were very different and colourful and some had glitter on them to make them more distinctive.  It was again a lovely atmosphere and so good to see so many ladies turning up to have some fun.  Please come along on Monday 22nd January at 10 o'clock if you are free to see the lovely textile work which Jo Stewart will have on display.  Bring a friend(s) if you wish.

RESULTS OF WINTER LEAGUE FRIDAY 12th January 2018

In the first playing competition of the year,  underfoot conditions were tricky but 18 ladies successfully negotiated Lansdowne in the Stanley Clark Competition.

What a splendid day!  Thanks to all who came along to learn from Neil's putting and chipping instructions.

It really was an excellent turnout and all who attended enjoyed the challenge of trying to stop a ball in a circle on the carpet.

FRIDAY 5th JANUARY 2018

 Play was abandoned today because of the atrocious weather conditions.

However, 16 ladies met for coffee and a chat and there was a lovely friendly atmosphere in the clubhouse.

      

Reminder that on Tuesday 9th January Neil will be organising some indoor chipping and putting in the dining room at 10 am.

The following week on Monday 15th January turn up and make your own ball markers.  Also in the dining room at 10 am.

FLORA SCOTT

Ladies, it is with very deep regret that I have to inform you of the death of Flora Scott, a past Ladies Captain and much respected member of The Blairgowrie Golf Club.

The funeral will be on Monday 8th January at 2pm at Bankfoot Centre Church.
