FRIENDLY MATCH v PITLOCHRY - MONDAY 21 AUGUST

We welcomed Pitlochry ladies yesterday for a friendly match on Rosemount. The morning's rain had disappeared by the time we teed off and gave way to a warm, sunny but windy afternoon. All of the matches were keenly contested, however knowledge of our greens proved beneficial to the home team producing a win of 2 1/2 to 1 1/2. Our visitors were very complimentary about the course which was in excellent condition.

After the match we enjoyed a delicious two course meal in the dining room.

Thanks to Sue Waddell (Captain), Marion Kay, Anne Walker, Eileen Brown, Moira Lumby, Judith Carmichael, Anne Farquharson and Linda Rice for representing the club.

Our last friendly match of the 2023 season is away at Panmure on Monday 28 August.

GLENISLA AWAY DAY - MONDAY 14 AUGUST

We had a great 'mini' away day yesterday at Alyth Golf Club's 9 hole course Glenisla. 18 ladies, 9 from the Wee Course and 9 Full members, came together for a fun afternoon of 9 holes of golf in glorious sunshine, followed by a delicious two course meal in the club house.

The course was in excellent condition, however a couple of the holes had water hazards which proved a bit of a challenge for some of the ladies and a few golf balls didn't make it home!

The winners with a score of 30 points were Anne Farquharson, Susan Wyllie and Shirley Irvine. Well done ladies!

Here are a selection of photos from our day........

Winners - Anne Farquharson and Susan Wyllie (Shirley Irvine missing from the photo)

FRIENDLY MATCH v CRIEFF LADIES - MONDAY 7 AUGUST

Our friendly match at Crieff was played in a Greensomes format which was a departure from our usual better ball game. All the groups had good close matches resulting in one win, one loss and one halved match, making the final result a friendly draw. The Ferntower course was in splendid condition and the weather was kind, with only one brief shower, all the better to enjoy the beautiful views. Afterwards, the teams enjoyed a delicious meal and plenty of chat.

Thanks to Carolyn Haddow, Marion Kay, Moira Lumby, Eileen McMurray, Angela Rooney and Gill Tissell (Captain) for representing Blairgowrie.

Thanks to Gill Tissell for the match report and photo.

HANDICAP LEAGUE MATCH v DUNKELD - SUNDAY 6 AUGUST

Our fourth and final Handicap League match of 2023 was played away at Dunkeld on Sunday 6 August. We started in glorious sunshine, however the rain that had been forecast arrived mid-round, which didn't help our cause!! The majority of our team were unfamiliar with the course, which provided an education on what happens to your swing when balancing at a 45 degree angle!! Despite our best endeavours we were unable to challenge the home team, who won 4-1 overall. That said, we had a most enjoyable afternoon, playing in friendly company on this beautifully presented course with stunning views all around, followed by refreshments and scones in the clubhouse.

Many thanks to Hannah Hislop, Anne Walker, Jo Menzies, Fiona Edwards and Elaine Robson (team captain) for representing the Club.

Many thanks to Elaine Robson for the match report and photos.
