Good Luck girls!
Nine ladies played in Stanley Clark Trophy on Lansdowne. The weather still not the best but the scores were fantastic. Is this the start of handicaps tumbling down in the new season!
Division 1 Winner - Gill Tissell (42 points on c/b); Runner-Up - Lesley McPherson (42 points)
Division 2 Winner - Irene Rixson (41 points); Runner-Up - Louise Whitehead (35 points)
Despite the awful weather on Saturday 7 ladies braved the elements to play in the Winter League.
Winner Division 1 - Shirley Lewis (33 points); Runner-Up - Anne Farquharson (28 points)
Winner Division 2 - Marion Kay (31 points); runner-Up - Elaine Robson (28 points)
Neil now has a few samples of the jumpers, a gilet and a technical top in the Pros Shop.
The sizes are all in medium but if it doesn't fit you know to go up or down a size. Happy shopping!
What a difference today! It was a beautiful warm sunny day and despite the constant rain of the past few weeks the course has drained well. 11 ladies had a very enjoyable round of golf.
Winner - Division 1 Gill Tissell (42 points); Runner-Up Morna Bell (40 points)
Winner - Division 2 Alison Graham (39 points); Runner-Up Heather Dawson (38 points)
The weather is continuing to cause a low turnout for the Winter League. Our three ladies playing today braved the rain yet again. This did not deter them producing an excellent score.
Winner - Division 1 - Gill Tissell (41 points) ; Runner-Up - Sheila Bruce (39 points)
Winner - Division 2 - Louise Luke (34 points)
Blairgowrie Ladies were keen to play in our Interclub Winter League match against Earlsferry Thistle Ladies on Sunday 18th January. The weather has caused problems for the Fife Coastal courses and on arrival for the match the ladies found that holes 1 and 2 at Elie were closed. This did not detract from the enjoyment of the course and the competitiveness of the match. As the match went on the fine dry conditions turned to rain but very little wind. All the matches were close but most of the Blairgowrie ladies found the fast greens hard to adjust to. The end result was a 2-1 win to Earlsferry Thistle.
All ladies warmed up with delicious home made soup and sandwiches in the clubhouse. Well done to our team of Claire Bidwell, Julienne Christie-Henry, Margaret Johnstone, Teresa Lynch, Lesley McPherson and Gill Tissell (Team Captain)
The first Winter League was played by three intrepid ladies on the Lansdowne course who seized the opportunity before it started raining and more to come.
Winner Division 1 was Gill Tissell (36 points)
Winner Division 2 Louise Luke (32 points); Runner-Up Alison Graham (30 points)

Ladies,
An extra social event to be added to your diary for 23rd February. I am pleased to tell you we have Linda Normand coming to give a class on making your own jewellery. Linda will run two groups of ten ladies for approximately three quarters of an hour consecutively. This is open to all the ladies but the class can only take twenty ladies in total. Please come along and watch even if you are not one of the ladies participating.
We look forward to welcoming Linda on what I am sure will be a fun morning.

What a lovely morning, sun shining and snow has disappeared, at least for now. Courses recovering and still closed. For the first of the Winter Social Events for this year Liz Ridsdale entertained us with her demonstration of winter floral arrangements. 20 ladies attended and were well entertained with Liz showing us how you can transform a few flowers and winter foliage into something special. Liz answered the many questions and gave us some useful hints and tips. Two lucky ladies names were drawn from the hat to win the arrangements. A most enjoyable morning was had by all.

Due to a forecasted snow flurry and settling on the courses the first Winter League of 2026 was cancelled. A few ladies came and had coffee but venturing out in the very bitterly cold wind coming from the north was not an option
