BLAIRGOWRIE LADIES V PANMURE LADIES 25/08/2014

Today, Panmure Ladies visited Blairgowrie for our annual friendly match. Played over Rosemount the two teams were blessed with clear skies but alas, unseasonably cool conditions. The match ended in an amicable draw and the ladies warmed up with an excellent meal and chat in the dinning room afterward. Many thanks go to the team: Noreen Fordyce (Captain), Muriel Rae, Barbara Lyburn, Heather Dawson, Diane Wallace, Jan Reekie, Christina Cleeton and Meriel Walker for representing our club.

This was our final match of the season and I would like to thank all the ladies who put their names down to play in these friendly games. Your participation and willingness to give up your time is greatly appreciated!

LADIES ANNUAL MEETING 2014

Ladies Section Annual Meeting

& Presentation Prizegiving

To be held in the lounge of  The Blairgowrie Golf Club

At that meeting the election of Captain, Vice Captain, and committee members for 2014-2015 will take place in accordance with the Blairgowrie Ladies’ Management Agreement November. 2010

Nominations should be made in writing or by completing a nomination slip, which can be found in the  Locker Room, by the closing date of 14th September 2014 with the name of the Proposer and Seconder.  Slips should be left in The Office, marked  for the attention of the Lady Captain.

Members may also put forward by 14th September 2014, any Motion or Proposal relevant to the Ladies' Section of the Club which they wish to put to the Annual Meeting.

Any Motions or Proposals must be made in writing and proposed and seconded.

Nominations and any Motions/Proposals will be published by the 22nd of September 2014.

Past Captains on Parade......

The Lady Captain, Margaret Hunter, hosted the annual Past Captains Competition and Lunch today  for 17 Past Captains. The competition for the Past Captain's Trophy took place on Rosemount with Janette  Hamilton a clear winner with 36 points - and that was off 7/8 handicap, well done Janette!
Norah Hay won the Wee Course Competition.  There was a special prize for the best Stableford score over holes 1 8 9 2, to mark the founding of the Ladies Section in 1892.  Muriel Rae won with a steady 8 points.

Following golf the ladies enjoyed a lovely  lunch with time to reminisce  and catch up. The Lady Captain presented  all the  ladies with a miniature rose as a memento of the day  and  the winners with pennies dated  1889, the year our club was founded.

BLAIRGOWRIE LADIES V DOWNFIELD LADIES MATCH RESULT

Today Blairgowrie Ladies welcomed Downfield Ladies to Rosemount for our annual friendly match. Although the temperature was a good few degrees lower than of late, the weather was fair and dry and Rosemount was in fantastic condition. After the match the ladies enjoyed an excellent meal along with lively conversation in the dining room. Downfield won the match 3-1 and we now look forward to visiting them next year. A big thank you to the team: Cathy Irving, Ann Henry, Avril Smith (Captain), Jan Kennedy, Aileen Kean, Jan Reekie, Elizabeth Tosh and Ann Spence, for representing our club.
