It was a perfect day for golf and the ladies and the senior gentlemen met for their annual match. Over a bacon roll lunch, the gents were sure they were going to be defeated as the ladies were all receiving an extra 4 shots on their playing handicaps. But these shots were only to even up the differing pars for the ladies and gents as the gents were playing off the yellow tees. Unfortunately, for the ladies the results were not quite what was expected. Despite quite a few matches going to the 17th/18th holes, the ladies were defeated in every match.
Afterwards, an enjoyable meal was enjoyed by all and the ladies were not too down hearted. Ian MacPherson, the gents senior captain was gracious in victory and he is pictured above being presented the Columbine Trophy by his missus Muriel MacPerson, the Ladies' Captain. Next year, the rules will be different; the gents will play off the white tees!
