THE CLUNY BRIDGE 30/03/2013

There was a busy programme of events at  the club today, starting at 11.00am with the official opening of the new bridge at the 17th  on Rosemount by Sir William Macpherson of Cluny and Blairgowrie.  The bridge will be known as The Cluny Bridge in  honour of Sir William and in recognition of his generosity to the club over many years.

Shortly afterwards members gathered in the clubhouse for a special presentation to the club by Captain Alisdair Drummond.  The surprise turned out to be a framed flag, signed by  all the members of the 2012 Junior Ryder Cup Teams of Europe and the USA, who, Alisdair assured us, will be the  stars of the future.  In addition, Managing Secretary Douglas Cleeton has presented a  flag signed by the victorious 2012 Ryder Cup Team. The framed flags have been hung at the entrance to the Pro Shop.
The club flag was unfurled a few minutes later by the Lady Captain and Gents Captain to huge cheers from the members.  The new golfing season is well and truly underway.

(P.S.  Entries close tomorrow for the Knockout competitions, so if you haven't signed up, there is still time)
