To date, our Blairgowrie Ladies team has competed in two matches. The first, away to Alyth on the 16th May and yesterday 23rd May at home to Muckhart. The selection of team members has proved something of a headache for team Captain Heather Anderson, due to a number of first team scratch players not being available, because of family commitments or personal injury.
Heather, however, has been able to call on two worthy subs, Liz Fertacz and Fiona Johnston, who have responded, at short notice, to the call of duty to play in both games. The match at Alyth was played in warm sunshine with the course being in good condition and scores being close, resulting in the spoils being shared 2.5 to 2.5.
The Muckhart match, played on Lansdowne, proved to be a harder task for Blairgowrie, with Muckhart's first three named players all being first team County players. The overall result went in favour of Muckhart, 3-2. Heather, however, was not disappointed, as her super subs, for two weeks in a row put scores on the table. Following the match a tasty meal was had in the clubhouse, with votes of thanks being given by both captains.
Heather would like to thank the players who volunteer for these matches and would encourage others to put their names down for future matches The team's next match is away to Pitlochry on 30th May.
