LADY CAPTAIN'S NEWSLETTER

Happy New Year to all

By the time you read this, I'm sure most of you will be relaxing after an evening of celebrations, and looking forward to the start of 2019, which sees our club celebrating 130 years.  I attended the Dinner Dance at the Golf Club with friends from Crail, which proved to be a most enjoyable night.  The food was excellent and the band played to a well packed dance floor.

We are now half way through our Winter League programme and those ladies who play in the Winter League have enjoyed getting together on Fridays - the Golf and camaraderie have been good fun.  The Ladies Afternoon Bridge on Tuesdays continues to be popular and I would like to thank Noreen Fordyce for her continued endeavours.

The Ladies Get-together will take place on Friday 22nd March.  This will be a good chance to meet up with friends and pick up some real golf tips to enhance your game. Karyn Dallas, golfing coach, will be sharing her knowledge on game preparation, mental attitude, course management and looking at our goals and desires in golf. There will be a 1 course meal in the dinning room with a glass of wine, cost still to be confirmed.

Lady Captain v Vice Captain  takes place on 29th March on Rosemount. This match is the first of the new Summer season, and I am inviting Lansdowne lady members  and 5 day members to join us.  Meet for a group photograph at 9.30am with a shotgun start at 10.00am.  The Invitation Day forms will be available on that day.

On Tuesday the 9th April the Ladies play the Senior Gents for the Columbine Cup. The  Gents are the current holders, so here's hoping we can turn that around. We require a Team of 20 ladies.

Margaret Kerr, Vice Captain and Competition Secretary will be co-coordinating the knockout competitions and sheets will be going up soon in the locker room.   We have 15 friendly matches this season and I am sure you will support the match convenors by signing up for as many as you can when the sheets are put up.  The Scratch League will be led by Jillian Milne and she will be looking for a good pool of players

Finally, we have a full programme of events this year, commencing with the Winter Socials on 7th January, so please consult the notice boards in the lockers room and of course the Blog.  If there is anything you need to know, please ask any member of the Ladies Committee.  Have a good year.
