To say we had a wet day for our Winter League match at home against Crail was a huge understatement! It was raining when we started and kept going for most of the round. Waterproofs, hats and umbrellas were de rigueur! The fairways gradually became quite boggy and it was a challenge to avoid the puddles, but the greens held up well. The weather did not dampen the competitive spirit however and all the matches finished in the last few holes. Despite the conditions, the slow greens and having to play off mats, the Crail ladies played well and beat the home team 2-1.
After the match we were served a very welcome bowl of soup and some sandwiches in the clubhouse and the general feeling was that we had at least enjoyed each other's company!
Thanks to Shirley Lewis, Louise Whitehead, Kathleen Norris, Lesley McPherson, Claire Bidwell and Gill Tissell (Team Captain) for representing the Club.
Thank you to Gill Tissell for her report. Well done to our team for playing in such dreadful conditions.
