BLAIRGOWRIE V ST RULE MATCH 1ST JULY 2015

Blairgowrie Ladies v St Rule Ladies Friendly Match

Today Blairgowrie Ladies visited St Andrews to play The St Rule Golf Club over the Eden course. Conditions at the start were sunny with a stiff breeze blowing. Sadly these conditions did not last and the clouds came in bringing with them some rain, hailstones and even a clap of thunder! Thankfully this did not last and kit had dried out well before the end of the round. The course was in immaculate condition and the greens were a real test due to their speed. Afterward the ladies retired to the lovely St Rule clubhouse, overlooking the 18th on the Old Course and enjoyed an excellent meal and some lively chat! Although Blair fought valiantly, with the first game going down to the last put on the 18th, St Rule ran out very convincing winners with local knowledge being of huge advantage!

Team: Elizabeth Davie (Captain), Jennifer Livingston, Avril Smith, Jacquie Landsburgh, Cathy Irving, Heather Dawson, Meriel Walker and Doreen Johnston.

Many thanks to these ladies for representing our club.

MATCH BLAIRGOWRIE V EDZELL 29/06/2015

Blairgowrie Ladies v Edzell Ladies - Friendly Match

Yesterday, Blairgowrie played Edzell at Edzell Golf Club in our annual friendly match. It was a mild day but quite a strong wind which made things a bit more tricky, the greens proving to be a real test. The matches were, as usual, keenly contested but sadly Edzell prevailed, winning 3 - 1.

Many thanks go to the team: Meg Marshall (Captain), Janette Hamilton, Noreen Fordyce, Heather Dawson, Fiona Barron, Judith Clowe, Diane Wallace, and super-sub, Margaret Paterson.

A big thank you to these ladies for representing our club!

NB. Edzell Ladies are still looking for entries for their Senior Open on Tuesday 14th July.

ALYTH V BLAIRGOWRIE MATCH RESULT

Annual Friendly Match v Alyth

Today, Blairgowrie Ladies played Alyth Ladies in our annual friendly match. Sadly, Alyth could only field a team of 6 due to a County Match taking place at Glenisla. A well fought match took place on an excellently prepared course which had been blessed with the rain the previous day. Alyth took the honours, winning 2 and 1. The ladies retired to the clubhouse afterward and enjoyed a good chat and a great meal.

Many thanks thanks go to those who represented our club today : -

Linda Rice (Captain), Jan Kennedy, Muriel McPherson, Sheila Ritchie, Kathy Cameron and Christine Ogilvie
