The Ladies' Annual Meeting and Prize Giving took place on Friday 12th October at 6:00 pm in the lounge. Earlier in the day all courses were closed due to severe flooding, resulting in the cancellation of the Captain's Farewell Competition.
Lady Captain Jean Laburn opened the meeting and gave her thoughts about her year as Captain, which, she said, had been dominated by the weather. Following her report and the reports of office-bearers Jean handed over to the incoming captain Vike Brown. Vike introduced the Vice-Captain, Margaret Hunter, and the new members of the Committee – Meriel Walker, Fiona Barron, Hazel Grant and Avril Smith (in absentia) and thanked those committee members stepping down – Anne King, Jacqui Landsburgh and Sheila Ritchie. Jean was presented with a lovely floral tribute as a token of thanks for all her work.

After the meeting the Ladies Prizes were presented by Vike. Our thanks go to Competition Secretary, Margaret Kerr, for setting out the results which are shown below. The business matters over, we all headed to the dining room for a tasty meal and convivial company.
